On Sunday 28th July, Silver Cross took part in The Tough Mudder at Broughton Hall, Skipton to raise money for a local charity, The Principle Trust. We wanted to support the trust because of their amazing story and their aim to improve the lives of disadvantaged and underprivileged children. These children are disadvantaged socially, physically, emotionally or as a result of extreme poverty or illness. The trust supports them through the provision of exciting respite breaks; with 3 homes located at the Marton Mere Holiday park in Blackpool and a log cabin in Ribblesdale Park, Gisburn where they provide week-long breaks to children all year round.
We successfully completed the 5k mud ridden course and raised a huge £1,463.75! We want to thank everyone who took part and contributed to this fantastic cause.
The founder of The Principle Trust, Mike Davies stated, “On behalf of us all in The Principle Trust Children’s Charity, a Huge Thank You to all your staff whom participated, and supported our Charity in “The Tough Mudder” To have a Company with the Values, Awareness and Heritage of Silver Cross means a great deal to us, particularly as you are so involved with very young children with your products!”
Mike further commented, “We believe that by providing Free Holidays for these children we are providing a Holiday which they otherwise would not have had. The feedback, responses, and letters we receive are amazing, which is our motivation to continue to provide more holidays.”
David Abbott, Brand Marketing Manager at Silver Cross was among the team that completed the challenge. “I am thrilled to hear we raised such a significant amount of money for The Principle Trust. Everyone really pushed themselves and worked hard as a team to achieve these results. I would like to thank everyone who took part and supported us.”
David continued to say, “It means a lot to us at Silver Cross that this money will help disadvantaged/underprivileged children to create unforgettable holiday memories.”
The £1,463.75 we have raised will either go towards the purchaseof a Profiling Bed for the new Lodge at White Cross Bay, which enables a disabled child to sleep safely and securely. Or it will be put towards five weeks of holidays for families and children at Haven Holiday Park in Blackpool.
We look forward to the next Tough Mudder!
