Car seat guide

Baby Car Seat

Rear-facing travel is a legal requirement until a minimum of 15 months old. Our range of newborn car seats includes our lie-flat infant carrier (Glide Plus 360), and multi-stage car seats (Approach Plus 360 & Motion 2 All Size 360) which will grow with your child.

Toddler Car Seat

We recommend keeping your little one rear facing for as long as possible, but once your child reaches 15 months in age, you can choose to keep them in an extended rear facing car seat (Approach Plus 360 & Motion 2 All Size 360), or move them to forward facing (Balance i-Size).

Child Car Seat

When your child outgrows their 5 point car seat harness at approximately 4 years old (around 18.5kg in weight for Motion 2 All Size 360, or 21kg in Balance i-Size), the next stage is a high back booster. The Discover i-Size is suitable from 100-150cm, which is approximately 4-12 years old – Motion 2 All Size and Balance i-Size both convert into a high back booster.

With ISOFIX

ISOFIX is an internationally standardised car seat
fitting system.

By choosing an ISOFIX car seat, you are choosing one of the safest ways for your child to travel in the car.

  • Minimal risk of incorrect installation
  • A permanent connection
  • Quick installation & easy removal

With seat belt

Some seats can be fitted with the vehicle 3-point seatbelt and do not use ISOFIX.

A belt fit child seat is just as safe as an ISOFIX child seat, provided it is fitted correctly.

  • Universal fitment
  • Seat tends to be more portable.
  • There is a higher chance of fitting the seat incorrectly, so follow the fitting instructions carefully.

What testing has been carried out on Motion 2 All Size 360?

We rigorously test all our car safety products above and beyond regulation at European independent testing laboratories to ensure your child is safe and secure on every journey, at every age. In addition, Motion 2 is the second generation of Motion All Size 360, which was named best baby, toddler and child car seat in ADAC’s 2022 Autumn Test, achieving the best score in its class. ADAC is an internationally recognised independent testing body, renowned for its stringent approach to crash testing.

What is the age suitability of Glide Plus 360 and Approach Plus 360?

Glide Plus 360 is suitable from birth until 13kg/40-87cm, which is approximately 18 months old. Thanks to Glide’s adjustable inserts, our lie-flat infant carrier is designed to accommodate babies of all sizes, to provide comfort and support throughout each stage of their development.

Approach Plus 360 is suitable from birth to 19.5kg/40-105cm, which is approximately 4 years old. Thanks to Approach’s adjustable inserts, recline and headrest, the multi-stage car seat is designed to accommodate your child at easy stage of their growth.

Can I attach Glide Plus 360 and Approach Plus 360 to my pram?

Glide Plus 360 is compatible with a range of Silver Cross prams and pushchair, perfect for short trips and taking a napping baby from car to pram with minimal disturbance. Simply clip in the adaptors to your pram’s chassis and attach the infant carrier. Glide Plus 360 is also compatible with a range of prams from other brands.

Approach Plus 360 cannot be attached to your pram.

Is a lie-flat infant carrier a better choice for my baby?

A lie-flat infant carrier, such as the Glide Plus 360, is regarded as a more comfortable option for your baby. It provides an optimal travel position by ensuring correct alignment of the head, spine, and hips to support healthy development whilst maximising your child’s comfort.

Is it safer to use a base with the Dream i-Size infant carrier?

Yes. The Dream ISOFIX base offers greater convenience, allowing the Dream infant carrier to be easily installed and removed from the vehicle. The risk of fitting an ISOFIX seat incorrectly is far lower, therefore making them safer.

Can I use the Balance i-Size car seat without the top tether and/or ISOFIX?

When using the Balance i-Size car seat in the under 21kg/105cm configuration (with the harness) the ISOFIX and top tether must be used. This configuration can be used until the child reaches 21kg or 105cm, whatever comes first. Once the child exceeds 21kg/105cm the seat can be used with the harness stored within the seat and the child secured in using the 3-point vehicle belt. This configuration can be fitted with or without the ISOFIX fittings. We recommend where possible to also secure the top tether. However, unlike the under 21kg/105cm configuration, this is not essential.
